Do you smell gas?
Do you think you have a gas leak?
Are you worried that fumes containing carbon monoxide are escaping from a gas appliance?
- Immediately put out all smoking materials and other open flames. Do not operate lights, appliances, telephones or mobile devices, including cell phones. Flames or sparks from these sources could trigger an explosion or a fire.
- Shut off the gas. Turn off the main gas supply valve, if it is safe to do so. To close the valve, turn it to the right (clockwise).
- Leave the area immediately. Have everyone evacuated from the building or area where you expect gas is leaking.
- Report the leak. Call your local fire department or dial 911, then call our Irving Energy team at 1.888.310.1924 from a building or area away from the gas leak.
