We have a variety of skilled tradespeople working onsite at our facilities to maintain and enhance our operations every day.

At our facilities, the majority of the tradespeople working onsite are employed by third party contractors.  In order to keep our operations running as smoothly and efficiently as possible, we work with contractor and trades partners to support the hiring process required for our operations and major projects – with the focus on working as one team.

New Brunswick Teen Apprentice Program (NBTAP)

The New Brunswick Teen Apprentice Program (NBTAP) is an industry led pre-apprentice program for qualifying students starting in Grade 10 or Grade 11. NBTAP has benefitted from private sector leadership from Irving Oil (Founding Partner) with strong support from employers, educators, government, and labour. NBTAP facilitates the early connection between industries facing a potential skilled trade labour gap and young New Brunswickers.
Over two or three paid summer work terms, selected students are coached and mentored on the job by participating skilled trade employers. NBTAP Student Apprentices learn practical trade and workplace skills and get a head start on an exciting career in the skilled trades. For more information about NBTAP and how to apply, visit
