The Ladd Family

Ethan’s mother, Savannah, describes her son’s story:

In 2008, our second son, Ethan, was born with a medical condition known as TSC (Tuberous Sclerosis Complex).  For the first seven months of his life, we watched him deal with increasing seizures and frequent trips to the hospital for monitoring, tests, and treatments.  We already had a one year old son, named Brayden, so this was a trying time for our family.  We struggled to find an answer with our local doctors in Bangor, ME, and after praying, we felt we should travel to the Children’s Hospital in Boston, MA.  We finally started to get the answers we needed to help Ethan manage his seizures, caused by the tumors in his brain.  We continue to make frequent trips to several doctors, both in Boston, MA and Portland, ME, for treatments and check-ups.

Although we were willing to follow God’s plan for treatment, the financial burden on our family was significant.  During one of Ethan’s therapy appointments, we were told about the Irving Oil Fuel the Care Program.  Since then, we have been blessed to receive gift cards for fuel that help our family manage the costs of traveling to Boston on a regular basis.

We are touched and comforted to know that the Fuel the Care Program exists to help families like ours.  We can’t thank Irving Oil enough for the kindness and generosity that they have shown to our family through this program.  Thank you, Irving Oil, for making a difference for our family and in the lives of many other families who find themselves caring for loved ones who need specialized treatment and care to improve their lives.
